Rules for the Day
All competitors ride at their own risk.
1. No liability accepted for any injury, loss or damage suffered by any competitor, spectators, vehicles or property.
2. Judges decision’s final. Any protest must be in writing within 20 minutes of the complaint with a $30 payment.
3. Approved tagged (red or yellow tags) safety helmets must be worn at all times while mounted. No riding in halters on PC grounds.
4. Plaiting and jackets optional, but encouraged.
5. Jumping - three refusals and out. Long sleeves are to be worn at all times.
6. Any bad language or excessive use of whips and spurs or cruelty to horse/pony will not be tolerated under any circumstances and can result in elimination.
7. Any horse/pony that may kick must have a red ribbon attached to their tails.
8. No dogs allowed on the grounds or in vehicles.
9. No jumping of cross country jumps is allowed.
10. All jumping will be kept under one meter (including tip and out)
11. All Non NZPCA members must complete a casual membership agreement.
12. Walking only while mounted outside of rings.
13. No lunging near vehicles
14. Snaffle bridles for all rings, unless exemption for safety reasons is given by the Committee on the day or prior to entry. Absolutely NO DOUBLE BRIDLES.
15. Judges and Committee have the right to alter or change events in this programme without notice.
16. Any rider with unsafe gear will be refused entry and entry fees refunded if gear cannot be replaced or changed.
NOVICE: A combination which has not won a red ribbon at an A&P Show or an Open Event at an Open RibbonDay or Champion on the Flat or Jumping at a Novice Day.
Special Notes:
1. Lead Rein riders only - 10 years and under, the pony must be on a lead by a parent or guardian at all times. Pony/rider combinations having once competed on lead rein must remain on a lead rein for all remaining events.
2. Kindy Ring Riders:
• Once entered the class the rider must stay in that class throughout the day and not ride a second mount in the afternoon section.
• Riders must be 10yrs and under.
3. First Year Ridden: Walking and trotting only / 40-50cm jumps / Riders 15yrs and under
4. Novice Pony: Rider under 16 years of age and mount under 14.2hh
5. Novice Hack: Under 25 years and mount over 14.2hh
6. Vintage Ring: Riders 25+

- Refund Policy:
- Any cancellation before the closing date – Full refund
- If you withdraw after the closing date, a refund will only be given on presentation of a vet or Dr’s certificate
- If you withdraw on the day – there is no refund
