COMMON PONY CLUB EVENTS & TERMS

ODE One Day Event. Riders compete in Dressage, Show jumping and Cross country all in the one day at their chosen level, Introductory A, Introductory B,
Pre-Training,Training or Open.
Novice A combination of horse/pony and rider that has never won three red (first place) ribbons in a corresponding event at any open ribbon day within the novice ring (novelty events are excluded). Novelty classes are fun classes, e.g. Best Pony Club Mount, Tip and Out. However, if you have a new horse/pony you may ride in the novice ring even if you have won many red ribbons on your previous horse/pony.
RIBBON DAYS
Ribbon Days are primarily held by Pony Clubs to raise funds but also to create a low pressure environment to introduce children to competing. It is a competition open to all riders and normally has 4 rings, Kindy (12years and under), Pony ring (16years and under), Hack ring (20years and under), Vintage ring (also known as Geriatric) for riders over 21 years.
Kaukapakapa Pony Club holds three Novice Ribbon days a year weather permitting. These are extremely popular days for the club attracting up to 100 riders per day.

NORTH HARBOUR DISTRICT PONY CLUB COMPETITIONS
Neville Trophy (ODE) First Start, Intro & Pre Training
This is an inter-club competition between the pony clubs in North Harbour District.
Teams shall be a maximum of 4 riders in each team at each competition level. Riders shall ride at the level they normally ride in at ODE competitions. All team member’s scores count and branches may enter as many teams as they wish. Competitors reaching the age of 21 years during the season the competition takes place will be eligible to compete as a senior member.

Th best 4 team member’s scores count for the dressage and the best 3 for overall prizes. Competitors reaching the age of 25 years during the season (01 August to 31 July) the competition takes place.

Inter-Club District Teams Ribbon Day Competition
No double bridles are allowed. Entry is each individuals own cost and is payable on the day. Each competition ring is run at a certificate level and the programme of each ring is set accordingly. Riders must therefore ride in the ring at the level of certificate they currently hold.
